5 Simple Ways To Stay Healthy At The Office

Ever wonder why some people are so careful about where or what they eat? They even travel miles to eat particular food and invite friends to share their experience, WHY? They understand food has the ability to bring people together, mysteriously serving the emotional life.

This week’s post is to spark some ideas of how to get the nutrients you need at the office for increased focus and maintain energy levels throughout the day.

And the best part is when you share with your team.

I recommend you keep some of these snacks in your office so you don’t get tempted to eat chocolate or other unhealthy treats, not all the time at least:

  1. Nuts (cashew nuts, almonds). Have a handful of nuts from time to time, or in between meals to you keep your energy levels up

  1. Fruit. Some fruit you will not be able to keep in the office. Better buy them in the morning or on at lunch. I personally like berries, all of them, when they are in season, delicious. But apples, pears, grapes, bananas are all good. I would not go for too many bananas because they are high on glycemic index rating and contain a lot of sugar. If you do have them combine them with nuts.

  1. Vegetables. Weird but you can have baby tomatoes, carrots (not pre-cut as they oxidize and lose nutrients) and any other vegetables you enjoy snacking on.

  1. Yoghurts. Usually offices have a kitchen with a fridge. Keep in the fridge some natural yoghurt you can have in between meals. Add honey and/or fruit and you have a delicious, healthy and energy boosting snack.

  1. Liquids. This means unsweetened teas (no milk, sorry) and water. Hydration is important for proper cognitive and biological functioning, keeps headaches away, literally, and energy levels up. I recommend herbal teas as they also cleanse the body and help eliminate toxins.

How do you stay healthy at the office? I love to hear.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing.

With Love,

Aji
